The temple became more significant than ever as everything else that had risen up, claiming to stand for them over the last decade fell down around their heads. By 19 73, he was seeing enemies everywhere. Increasingly, the whole world was becoming an enemy. Psychologists sometimes call people with paranoid disorder. They say that they have a warfare personality, at war with every one and everything. And underneath all the idiosyncrasies of the temple and of jim himself, he was heading toward that cliff too.
