Isoprost: A Synthetic Prostaglandin for Frozen Feet
Isoprost is a drug that has been used in Europe for years to treat severe frostbite. It works by increasing blood flow to tissues and opening up some of those small vessels. Isoprost is still not approved by the FDA and the US, and is only available in Canada through Health Canada's special access program.
