What's the Motivation Behind the Lock Downs in China?

In china there is something called a social credit system. You will be evaluated according to certain metrics, including your opinions and actions. And this will result in the granting to you of a score that will affect the kinds of privileges and rights you can exercise in china. So we're being warned that the chinese social credit score system is coming to the united states. But i don't think they're ere any good answers to that. Whyre they're doing this? I mean, you could come up with some o guesses, but it's really, there's not substantial evidence out there to explain why they're doing these things. It really sort of defies all common sense
