The Risk of a Bad Core Inflation Situation in the UK
There's a risk that Britain has an unusually bad core inflation situation by comparison to other European countries. Unit labor costs are high in the UK because wage growth is high and productivity is pretty low here. The government will want interest rates and yields to come back down, but I think primarily they'll want inflation lower first.
