Deep Learning Is Very Hard to Do Correctly
Sometimes it feels like deep learning gets turned down just because you have these sometimes unsolored works or non reproducible works and then kind of deep learning gets kind of reflected bad by the stuff somehow. One reason not to use deep learning, frankly, is it's hard to do right. But if you, again, look at the biggest companies in the world doing recommender systems, they're doing deep learning. They're doing it because it's making them a lot of money. It turns out that random variable was one of the most significant contributing factors to the final performance of the model.
