Jesus and the Dead Sea Scrolls

When we read the Dead Sea Scrolls, they have several terms for their community. In Matthew 16, our Lord says, you are Peter and upon this rock, I will build my chlesia, my church. And then another thing that they referred to themselves is they call themselves the many, the many of Israel. That would be a self-reference to their community. So it explains this. But also, it explains, you know, our Lord talking about this is poured out pro-multies for many. It's a reference to the community that is formative.
