The Biggest Rate of Inflation Since January of 1982, Year Over Year
The government's official estimate of inflation for the month of february was slightly worse than would have been anticipated. The gain year over year, which was seven and a half % in january, ended up at seven point nine % for feb February. That is the highest a rate of inflation since january of 19 82, year over year. If we were using that c p i to day, the inflation that was just reported to day would easily be north of 15%.
