The Importance of Breaking the Codes
I honour my Cuban roots crossing over jazz and Latin classical music, so I do Latin music. Critics like to categorise music, they like to find a slot for it. You produced your album yourself. Why did you want to do that? While composing for me, it's always been very important to break the codes that have been established over time by men. And in music, we are very few women that play an instrument, writer, composer, and even less women's musical producers.
