The Tahafat Isn't About Systematic Incoherence in Avicenna and Philosophy

It used to be thought that philosophy more or less died out in the Islamic world after the 12th century. Al-Aqazelle's tahafat helped Avicenna replace Aristotle as the main point of reference. He was very clear in his deliverer from error that some aspects of philosophy should be welcomed, especially logic. It is not a wholesale rejection of the tools bequeathed by the philosophical tradition.
