Capitalism and Machine Repairs

Capitalists want to keep their machines working, or change them when they've run out of potential. If a machine breaks then capital is going to have to be given over to the repair person who will need to dig into their own pockets and pay for it. But if you make more machines, you're going to need to hire more laborers to cover it. It makes more sense for capitalists to buy a whole new machine rather than one that just won't work as well - this is completely hypothetical.
