I Met Rabbi Yitz Greenberg and He Encouraged Me to Write a PhD on the Holocaust

Rabbi Saks was a role model for people growing up in orthodoxy, especially in a more kind of thinking orthodoxy. Rabbi Dr. Sam Liebens studied philosophy at university and unlike Tanya's career, his research choices weren't consciously shaped by admiration for Rabbi Saks. In later years I moved into philosophy of religion and it was then that I realized the extent to which my religious outlook had been shaped by Rabbi Saks when I came back to these things professionally. He had shaped me very greatly and finally since his passing, I've taken upon myself, I think, to write more directly about some of the things that Rabbi Saks has written.
