CHAPTER

The Fourth State of Consciousness

When you learn vedic meditation regularly, you go into that turia state. There is another name for it in sanscrit which is samati. Samati ama d h i samat means that temporary period where the mind ceases to think and experiences pure transcendence. With release of stress happening regularly during meditation, the load on the brain and body to release stress during dreaming is much relieved. So dreaming starts to become lighter. Lighter, the requirement for sleep is not as desperate as it is without meditation. This is consistent with our theory that deprivation of any one consciousness state will cause suffering. One of the reasons why tepopulation is suffering so grossly.
