The Relationship Between Programming Language and Other Languages

Spanish is definitely something that I want to invest more time. Probably my next one might be French. There's so much shared vocabulary between English and Spanish, maybe half the words in French either have some analog in English or Spanish. But I don't see how learning a new spoken language could help you learn programming languages... What do you think?
