The Mystery of the Trinity, by John Yeman
Yeman uses classical christian theism, the trinity and biblical theology to think about divine attributes. The problem is not with god's character or how he shows himself, but because we are fallen creatures, and we tend to make god in our image. Yeman: Even before sin, even before there was a fall, god intended that his verbal communication with us would be a central aspect of communion between himself and us. But of course, the fall makes it worse for us, because we have an innate tendency to suppress the knowledge of god, to distort it.
