The Rental Crisis
Rent is growing an annualized rate of more than 10% still. Rents are now taking up the highest proportion of the average salary in over a decade. Housing benefit has now been frozen for a few years, only 5% of rental properties are now affordable based on housing benefit rates. Land Bay surveyed landlords and found 41% have said they plan to invest expand their portfolio in the next 12 months.
