The Future Generations Principle
There's this concept called the future generations principle. It asks what will development have on family life and children? I was asked to support a homeless project that wanted to expand its footprint, you know, it wanted to build more dormitories but local authority had refused them. The reason for that was because it would have been carving off acres of natural beauty in an area of outstanding natural beauty. And so if everything goes through this kind of prism,. then you really do have to stop and think, do we build that road there? Oh, do we put that sewage work here? Do we? We are here for the generations to come.
