I think in some ways the biggest threat now is the Russian Federation itself disintegrating. I just think that we've also overestimated Russia for many years. The likes of Merkel and indeed even Obama got this badly wrong about Russia. And it's not really modernised or become more effective, it is utterly undermined by corruption on scales that we've rarely seen in human history.
