"I was unemployed for almost two years of the first five years with contract work in between," she says. "To make ends meet, I cooked for other people, I have sat, I sold furniture out of the house." Her divorce from her husband led to a $1 million-plus debt that had to be rolled into one mortgage payment. The couple's children are now at foreign after school care and they're working on their way through college.
