Do You Read as You're Writing?
I usually read a lot before I started a book on that topic. When I'm writing on a topic, I read randomly and then I am always amazed at things that I find when I wasn't looking. So you're sort of opening yourself up to serendipity. People who read a lot quit a lot of books. And people who don't read a lot don't get that. Like the job of the reader is to capture your attention,. The job of the writers are to make you think I need to finish this book. It's so good.
