The Secret Garden by Francis Hodgson Burnett
Francis Hodgson Burnett was born on the 24th of November, 1849 in Manchester. Her most enduring work is The Secret Garden and A Little Princess. Now seen as a classic of English children's literature because it was originally published in a magazine for adults. When Burnette died in 1924, none of her obituaries even mentioned The Secret Garden but everyone spoke about Lord or Little Lord Fantle Roy.
