The Theory of Political Participation in Greece
Theory that follows is man is by nature a political animal. The focus of rational speech is the advantageous the just and the good. Why did people go to the lincoln douglas debates? Well, partly because major issues were at stake. But another reason they went was these two guys were good and it was like a prize fight. And we know from thucydides about the athenian assembly that people go there for the combat.
