Self-Efficiency Information Mastery Experience Vicarious Experience

Self-efficacy is acquired and modified through four major sources of self-efficacy information. These are mastery experience, vicarious experience, social persuasion and physiological states. If you have many or significant highly available memories of you failing at some of these things then it will reduce how much you believe that you are capable of doing these specific things. They note in the chapter that it's easier for failure to reduce your level of self- efficacy than it is for success to increase it.
