Few people at the top are actually people who have inherited their wealth. And so eventually these super duper rich families sort of disappear and replaced by others. So i would say that's one thing. The other question you ask, is it possible to imagine a post scarcity world? Ah, yes, if you define scarcity by what you and i desire, but we don't have a maybe you want a better bike. You really can't measure scarcity, because you're comparing it against infinite wants. But you can measure abundance. If it cost you less time, you are becoming more abundant.
