The Why Factor

CHAPTER

How Detectives Use Their Intuition

Psychologist Michelwright studied how detectives put different homicides into categories. She found that as soon as the detective was handed or the 20 crime scenes, they automatically began ere to develop inferences. We build up our intuition slowly over time by reflecting on our experiences and by listening to the emotions related to these experiences. After a while, we can then just listen to how we feel in a situation and know how to act without having to consciously think about things.
