Split Brain Research

A lot of this research was done under michael gazaniga. And they started noticing that it seemed that the left and right hemispheres, when they were split, that consciousness was split in some sense too. They became, in a sense, independent people. It sounds so strange to say, but that was what they were seeing in this research. For most people, the language centre of the brain is the left hemisphere. So for most patients, the left hemisphere was the only one that could speak.
