This means that it's important to do plenty of speaking in your English lessons. And speaking about the subject that you're going to be then reading about or listening to. This tells us that if you want to understand a reading text better, you need to get yourself thinking about the subject and start predicting what you might expect to find in it. For example, here's a text about air travel. So you just think about going on a plane and what are the issues related to air travel these days. If you go through that mental process and try and express yourself about it, you'regoing to be able to understand the text better. It does teach you about the psychology of learning a language

He learned it as an adult when he moved to London in his twenties.
