The Irony of VR
The weaker moment of VR is when people realized that you could do this, but the hardware wasn't up to doing anything like there was practical as a consumer product. 10 years later, Meta has spent at least $35 billion on this stuff because they spent over $30 billion on operating losses for the reality labs group offset a bit by revenue from selling hardware against. So we're at what $100 billion all in and we don't have a single like the user, the gold level device yet. This supposedly also sells off the shelf stuff is like $100 billion and counting of not off the shelf, which is kind of ironic.
