According to Peter and Caleb's benign violation theory humor is a tool for us to learn social norms and culture. Laughter tells us oh this thing it's not really gonna hurt us. Humor can teach you sort of how to be a person and how to move about the world. Unfortunately for Ali learning about what makes things funny from the scientists it hasn't made her funnier absolutely not know.
