There is concern that access to over the counter birth control pills will prevent people from going to the doctor for other things, like STI screenings or breast cancer screenings. But research suggests that even when someone has access to the pill over the counter, that they still see a provider for other things. So it's really exciting that that's finally going to be an option here in the United States and has been an option in many countries for a very long time.
