Canagloflozin was found to have lower risk of AKI on the drug than a SGLT2 inhibitor. Fornies gangrene seems to be pretty, pretty rare. The drugs are largely safe and they're not likely to cause hyperkialemia or kidney damage. They've been around for a decade but there's still new understanding of these drugs.
