The Best Translation of a Crime and Punishment
I'm an endless advocate for rereading, because I think it's more important than reading. My first translation that I read of Don Quixote was 1700-ish by Motto. Some people love the Lydia Davis and some will tell you that it's actually more faithful to the original Proust. So go for whatever makes a journey for you. But do so with love rather than hostility. And keep in mind this from Rabbi Tafon: "You are not required to finish your work"
