The Immorality of a Higher Status Relationship

I think if I had gotten together with someone who was lower status than a tenured professor, people wouldn't have been so upset about it. Because you're a woman, it's complicated because people don't usually see the woman in a higher status position. And that was something that I saw all over the place. If everybody did what I did when they were in romantic relationships with students, namely, announce the relationship to officials at the university immediately, get out of the supervisory role and create a track record such that where she had done this over and over again, it would be very well known. I think we wouldn't really have any problems with faculty student relationships.
