The Importance of Passion in Music

I started taking piano lessons formally at a music store when I was about four or five years old. My upbringing as a younger child was a combination of gospel music and current R&B and then classic soul. In hip hop, I wasn't that into hip hop until I went to college. And so in college I was playing at a church every Sunday to help pay my bills. They had a thing called Black Lily where the roots and the Jazzy Fat Nasties would host. Jill Scott was coming from Philly, Jaguar, Bilal, Music Soulchild, all this stuff was happening while he was in college.
