The Effect of Loan Words on Vowel Harmony

Vowel harmony itself is basically a sub branch or it's like, you know, uh, assimilation. There are some other consonants that play a role in vowel harmony and determining whether things get back-vowels or suffixes. It's really interesting to look at because a lot of times, it has to do with loan words which can have such a powerful effect on the target language.
