Norman Cooks and the English Peasant Harroward

Harroward was surrounded by knights, squires, cooks and servants debating in French whether or not this was Harroward. One of the group asked him in English if he knew Harroward, and the wake perked up as if only now understanding what they were saying. He replied in English, quote, I would take vengeance upon him good and proper. You see, he stole a cow from me and for sheep, and because of this, I've been forced to beg wretchedly...I am scarcely making a poor living out of this pack horse in pottery" The kitchen staff then blindfolded Harroward and kept pushing him forward so he would trip and fall over
