Les Mis was a pretty memorable set of sequences in Les Mis and a lot of them had to do with the history of revolution some of the battles that were pertinent to the characters. The art of architecture at least in Hugo's time is suffering so he talks about um Notre Dame is a gothic cathedral cathedral I think we said Renaissance last time but I don't believe that's trueUm don't we say Don't we say? "Don't we say what?" you know, it's just like an open question" yeah yes please tell us." So there are two big diversions they're mostly up front there's one that's mostly about the history of Paris which is sort of interesting
We're dipping back in the Victor Hugo well this week with his other best-known book The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Did you know that the book and the Disney movie don't end the same way?
Also on tap: road trips, games of tag, revisiting the poverty question from last week, and talking about Hugo's views on architecture vs. the printing press.
