Gehenna: A Monument to Infidelity and the Afterlife

Gehenna is itself a reference to, and that term also occurs in the Hebrew Bible. It's associated specifically with idolatrous acts of non-Israelite peoples said to include child sacrifice. The New Testament authors are not using one word for hell. They are using Gehenna. They're using Hades in one case. And Tartarus in Revelation. There's all these different concepts that are in the New Testament text because they still don't have this concept yet.
