The House Pipe Analogy - Where a Hidden Dimension Can Be
Physicists say there are two kinds of dimensions: big, obvious ones that you can easily see with a naked eye or tiny, curled up dimensions that are more difficult to see. The mathematics basically grabbed physicists by the shirt collar and said, look at what the mouth is i you, physicist. This isn't just a fanciful idea, young people coming ut with higher dimensions because it sounds cool. It's the mathematics itself that insists these dimensions must exist completely. So if you take this theory seriously, the math drives you to the conclusion that there have to be more dimensions than we know about.
