Why Cricket Isn't as Popular as Football?

Every ball, even in the first two, three hours, goes to the boundary. Why is that? Do they make the special kinds of balls that don't swing? There should be some sort of balance between bat and ball. I like the ball when it swings. But i suppose it's not good for the spectators. The spectatrs won to see fours and sixes. Maybe theyare using all these flat pitches. And cricket obviously has all these rules. So maybe that is the reason why it hasn't really caught on. In football, the objective is very clear, go and put the ball in the net. That's it.
