Aspagulos is all around us and we're probably breathing it in right now. For most people it doesn't cause any problems but if you have risk factors for disease such as damaged lungs or immunosuppressive therapy then you are vulnerable to infection. The good news is that after decades of neglect there finally is some progress with new antifungal drugs, says Dr Gallagher. "We're on the cusp of some really positive change," he adds.
