Is It an Evil Suffered?
For saint thomas, that god has willed to create a world of material substances. When te lion flourishes the lamb, some lambs are going to get eaten. Getting a cold is an evil suffered, but it's a virus flourishing being good and what it does. Even then, he would acknowledge something like cancer is still a physical evil.
