How I Pursued a Separate Career in Science
I've always been curious and I've always been interested in science, especially around the time my early 20s. So when Mash had ended and I got a letter inviting me to be on the show called Scientific American Frontiers, I was really curious to know what scientists had to say about their work. But I said I don't want to just be the guy who says here they are now and then I go away and come back and read a narration. The chance to spend a whole day with the scientists to just get a six minute piece for the show means there's a lot of interaction. And I used my experience as an improviser, which would make it sound like a conventional interview
