We make a lot of assumptions about what happens to families when somebody leaves do to incarceration. And we actually just don't have the data to be able to thick any of that with any level of veracity. We need better data to understand those things. Let's talk about this from a policy perspective. What would some liminary recommendations look like? Can we improve access to economic conditions and social supports available to individuals who might experience a family member incarcerated? How can we improve child’s access to high quality care for families in particular, even if a family member 's already behind bars?'
