The themes of experiences in the work place that i have heard from women of color over the last few years are so similar. Managers cannot be considered effective if they can only manage employees who are like them, which is such a powerful statement. So what this aquaits to me is, does your manager want more for your career than you even think is possible, than you can imagine? And i have been the most successful, like, have leaped frog in my skill set when i've worked closely with people who wanted more for my career than even i did.
