The Importance of Cognitive Therapy for Borderline Personality Disorder

The reason I had so many patients with borderline personality disorder is because I was on the third floor of the Gerard Bank building in Philadelphia. So that's when I learned that cognitive therapy falls short for many of these people and I had to create more powerful tools different tools with a different nature. Childhood abuse almost never leads to borderline personality disorder. But if you look at the incidence of child abuse in our culture it's like a hundred times greater than the incidence ofBorderline Personality Disorder.
