The infrastructure power and inequality is are tied together has been around for a long time. Langdon Winter argues that the city planner Robert Moses designed restrictive bridges on a long island parkway to keep buses off of it because poor people and especially poor black people used buses right so he was like creating racist bridges. New York has systematically lower clearances than even cities that had a very similar infrastructure profile similar big personality urban planners such as Boston.
