Star Trekopers by Hildy Varley

The novel is glibly written because it's a first person narrative from the perspective of Hildy. The criticism that the novel Star Trekopers is basically fascist, I think has a lot of merit to it. But the militarism is very much not a part of Varley's writing. He takes seriously the idea that you have to fight for freedom.
