i was the food critic for a large, big newspaper. But i have to say, it wasn't as glamorous as it sounds,. Jonathan gold did all the ethic restaurants and the sort of cheap eats places. And at first it was ruth richell a wrote all of the high end places. So i had the great broad middle, which, for weeks on end, often meant new italian restaurants. Wit in the eighties and nineties, were just popping up like crazy.
