i would argue that there's three phases to the west interaction with these other cultures. Phase one is sort of domination, right? Like jmoth was saying. Phase two is assimilation, where thett, the culture that's been dominated, realizes that they're behind and they want to catch up. And we are caught off guard by that. We don't really realize that they never really wanted our culture. They just wanted to throw off, you know, american domination or western domination.
