Java 21: Should Tomcat Support Jakarta E11?

If Tomcat moves to Jakarta E11, would it be like a hard requirement that all apps using Tomcat for Jakarta E11 would need to now? It's the answer is that it depends. If I think if Tomcat can compile the Jakarta E11 APIs that it needs with Java 17, unless Loom comes along, there isn't really any strong case to move to Java 21. We'll obviously ensure that it runs on any current version of Java. And so it'll happily run on 21, 22, 23, whatever number we happen to get up to. The only thing we have to watch for is some nifty optimization things in the expression language around knowing what classes exist in the
